GG Decorating
When Harrogate based decorators, G G Decorating approached us to come up with their branding, we knew we had to produce something really special!
Located in an affluent area, G G Decorating work in the high end, luxury market and needed branding to reflect that.
With premium paint brand Farrow & Ball proving a popular choice for the company’s clients, the first thing we did was take a look at their colour cards for some inspiration!
Quite unusually for us, we didn’t try out many different colours in our initial design work and development. The colour palette in this particular branding project came together and just seemed to feel right from the beginning.
The client brief called for a simple, clear design and with an Italian owner, the inspirations from Italy soon started to flow.
The backwards G idea stemmed from conversations with the client and we worked that into a few variations of our designs as they developed.
Earlier variations of the final design included a paintbrush motif but this was eventually dropped after further consultation with the client.
The final design achieved simple, smart and elegant in abundance with the clean, fresh white text complimented by the richness of gold trim laid on a sleek grey background.
All branding was supplied in various formats for the company’s future printing needs along with brand guidelines and a specially sized logo to fit the company’s facebook page.
Exterior banner printing...
As G G Decorating are often on site working on property exteriors, there quickly became a need for an exterior banner for attachment to scaffolding. We designed and printed a 2 metre by 1 metre outdoor 510gsm PVC banner, hemmed at the back to keep the edges from fraying, and with eyelets around the edges to enable fastening in place.

This A1 sized pavement board, was designed and supplied to as another method of enabling G G Decorating to advertise themselves whilst working on a property.

email addresses
& domain hosting...
One thing that became really apparent to us once we had the branding covered, was what a let down it would be to put personal email contact details on the business cards and banner we designed.
We secured the domain name GGdecorating.com on behalf of the company and added it to our hosting server to enable us to create company email addresses such as enquiries and accounts@ggdecorating.com. As the company grows there’s absolutely no limit to how many email addresses they can have set up on our server.
